Gum Arabic
Gum Arabic is an exudate gum; it is secreted from plants or trees. It is used as a stabilizer,
binder, emulsifier, or a viscosity-increasing agent in confectionery, soft drinks, and dietary fiber.
It is also used in non-food products such as pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, printing, ceramics,
photosensitive chemicals, textiles, paper, ink, paints, and adhesives.
Acacia Senegal (Hashab): medium to small size modules and tears. Light amber colour with a
lustrous exterior.
Acacia Seyal (Talha): yellowish-brown solid. Its nodules and tears on drying becoming brittle
and easily breaks into siftings and dust. It is odorless and stringent in taste.
